December Pheasant Hunting

12/10/2006

I must have solo'd under a luck star! After a night of ice-fishing, an opportunity to do some late season pheasant hunting presented itself. The weather was on our side this time, so I chose to bring my 5-year-old Finnegan, and 3-year-old Evelyn with us road-hunting in east-central Wright county. The temperature was near 50 as we drove along the many dirt roads scanning ditches for the ever elusive pheasant. I'm happy to report that we saw a total of 14 roosters during our day, walked several public hunting area (WMA and WPA), and several ditches. Although we did not return with any birds this day, it was a good outing. My kids are excited to go out again to watch their "Chox" work. I've posted a few pictures below to share.
